Water Warriors: watch and take-action

  • Chapel Hill PUblic Library 100 Library Drive Chapel Hill United States (map)

Learn about the Mountain Valley Pipeline and the Southgate Extension, proposed to run through Alamance county. Find out how to take action opposing this project at Chapel Hill Public Library - room A with dinner from Alfredo's Pizza Villa.

Join us for a viewing and discussion of Water Warriors - the story of a community's successful fight to protect their water from the oil and natural gas industry. Following the film we have a chance to discuss the Mountain Valley Pipeline and the Southgate Extension which is proposed to run through Alamance county. Special guests include Caroline Hansley, an organizer with the Sierra Dirty Fuels Campaign who is working to oppose the pipeline, and Cyrstal Keck, an Occaneech-Saponi citizen. Crystal's tribal lands and heritage are threatened by the pipeline. We’ll be encouraging attendees to submit comments opposing the pipeline. Please RSVP to help us estimate our pizza order and BYORB (bring your own reusable bottle) - water fountain and other drinks for purchase available in the library lobby. Hosted by Sierra Club OCG.
